best moments, part 2 - baquedano

My first day in the field! they had my desk all set up cute. the one behind me was my trainer. she was fun and cute. the other two crazies were like my lifeline. my trainer didn't speak english, so these girls helped me out a lot. loved them!

my trainer and her previous companion had been teaching this family, and my third week into the field they were baptized! it was amazing. really great for me to see. even though at this point i was still not catching everything that was going on. just tried to stay in-step with my trainer.

my second companion. she was amazing. so driven. we were runnin and runnin and runnin. came home exhausted every night. what a great, fulfilling feeling. :D

this is one of my favorite families ever!!!!! (plus the two elders who shared the sector and who were also our zone leaders at the time). and yes, that is a papiermache rhinoceros on the wall in the background.

one of the best feelings in the world (on the mission) is looking around you and not feeling culture shock anymore, after you have settled in and you feel it--like you are where you need to be amongst the graffiti and the stray dogs and the tin roofs and the garbage. you just know that you are doing what is right and you feel good about it. that came in about 2 or 3 months out into the field and man, it felt good to finally settle in and start getting lost in it. and a lot of thanks for that goes to my companion. :D
