RUNNIN, RUNNIN, RUNNIN!!!

another week like this ZZZRRRRRAAAAUUUUUUUUM! race car fast. ha ha i can just picture you all doing the race car noise while staring at the computer screen. bah ha ha. go ahead, do it and laugh :D
time is moving in hyperspeed. and we keep on chugging along! it has been rainy and cold all week, but we are used to that. just ready for the spring to come in. that will be nice. the only thing is, here the weather is very unstable and changes demasiado rapido. it can be cold and rainy one day, and hot and sunny the next. or both in the same day. it keeps things interesting. it´s almost like there is no middle, no spring, just winter and summer. we will see how it goes this week. heading into september is supposed to be "spring time", so we will see what happens.
what. why i am i wasting my time talking about the weather. "but i digress!".....
SO. miracles miracles miracles. we are seeing more hearts changing than i have ever seen before in my mission. we are consecrating ourselves and going deeper and deeper into the work and we are loving it. I look back and remember what it was like at first, (Megan, i know how you feel!!!!), but with time i slowly started to figure it out. i´m envious of hermana butler, my comp, because she has less than 9 months on her mission, and she has already arrived at this point in which we are both so involved and consecrated to the work, whereas i have 15 months and am just now arriving at this point. (i hit my 15 month mark last friday!!!! ) i wish i would have captured the vision sooner! pucha. but we are doing well.
A menos activo, the father of a family that is very dear to us, came to church yesterday after leaving the church 15 years ago and vowing to never return. Another young mom (a little rebellious) who has left the church stays in the room when we go to visit her active member mom (whereas before she would go to another part of the house when we went by) and even agrees to say the closing prayer with us. An investigator who is a lesbian and her hard-hearted friend that never wanted to speak to us before are inviting us to their home and singing hymns with us and are changing their hearts. they always ask "when can you come back?" when we leave. a young teenager from a family of evangelicos that want nothing to do with the church is coming to ward activities alone and recieved an answer through humble prayer that joseph smith was a true prophet. another teenage kid (a flaite/gangsta punk) is sitting in on discussions with us and learning about the plan of salvation and has desires to go to church. another family of menos activos, the father of which is a smoker, are making goals and have committed to come back to church this sunday. and the list goes on. we are seeing the Lord´s hand in the work that we do, and i really feel like i am just an instrument. i sit back and am amazed at the changes that are taking place in people´s lives, and i know it is all because the Holy Ghost has entered the hearts of the people and is working his magic. it really is incredible.
we were really sad yesterday because we had invited about 12-15 investigators and menos activos to church last week, and they all had commited, but only one investigator and one menos activo came to church. those two coming to church was a miracle, but still, what in the world happened to the others? we have been seeing lots of great things happen, but the only thing we seem to struggle with is church attendance. the peeps here can be suuuuper lazy about going to church. alex, any ideas?? but other than that, we are thrilled with the changes we have seen in people´s lives. we are going to fast this saturday as a companionship to ask for help with the people coming to church. it says in the white handbook, that we aren´t allowed to ask people from home to participate in fasts and such, but if you could send up a prayer sunday morning it would be greatly appreciated! we know Heavenly Father will hear them, and we could use all the help we can get!
anyway, crazy stuff happening in the states, eh? an earthquake??? a hurricane???? what is going on? our investigators and members tell us things they see in the news, unfortunately, and we have been hearing crazy stuff. it makes me worried because hermana retana´s family lives in DC, and then there is sister bell and brother moulton.... i will be praying for them!
well, that´s all i gots for now. there was so much other stuff that i wanted to write about concerning what i read in your emails but i am out of time, sorry i´m so lame.... i love you all so sos sososososoooooooooooooooooo much. take care, until next week!!!
